The belles have gone to the Isle of Wight with their grandparents this week so Mr Nell and I took the tourer to the Cotswolds. I swear if I am ever in need of a tasselled cushion, candle shaped like a pea pod or a Georgian side table with lamp then I'll know where to go. Here's Stow on the Wold and one of Mr Nells pet hates - Morris Dancers.
We visited Stow church which had a wonderful flower festivaland was themed around the saints. St Crispin with shoes, St Luke with medical apparatus etc.
This gorgeous display was for St Edward
These are representing Our Lady.
And more flowers, Jess sent these beautiful blue roses to celebrate the release of Blue Remembered Heels - aren't they gorgeous?

Hooray, I'm so pleased that they're nice :) I really wasn't sure what they would look like and the website wasn't very hot on pictures!
Gorgeous roses.
Pea pod candle?!? I want one!

Excuse my ignorance but what are Morris Dancers?
Morris dancing has it's origins in pagan times and grew in popularity throughout the middle ages. It's a form of folk dancing - groups of men dance in patterns to ensure fertility, good harvests etc. It's still popular in the west country and in rural parts of England. However many troups now have women dancers. This is the officialish definition. Mr Nell's definition is lots of men with facial hair waving hankies and wearing bells around their ankles.
Thanks Nell. LOL at Mr. Nell's definition.
Those roses are beautiful Nell. :) I've just finished BRH - chilled out on the sofa yesterday with it which was a real indulgent treat. I love your characters - so warm and real - and the 'wolves' had me laughing out loud.
LOl about the morris dancers - but isn't Anna Lucia having ago at Morris dancing? Or am I misinformed...
I'm sure Anna Lucia, would make a lovely Morris dancer and I'm quite sure she doesn't fit Mr Nell's description.
I think Morris dancing was in danger of dying out unless women started to join in.
